This muscatel is a treasure among Portuguese wines. For over 100 years, 575 liters have aged in oak barrels used in the José Maria da Fonseca winery, Adega dos Teares Velhos, in Azeitão. The Favaios 1980 is the type of wine that vinifies only in the years in which the grapes have demonstrated to have an exceptional quality. After careful selection of the best Favaios grapes they were macerated and fermented as they were traditionally in the region. The alcoholic fermentation is very short, and soon after the ascent of the blanket is bleeding of most of the wort and application of brandy. A small part of the wort, however, continues to ferment and macerate with the films for a few more days and only later is the fermentation of this very aromatic rich must. The first and second mustards are then blended and stored in very old wood shavings and then age slowly improving their bouquet over decades. It has a very intense aroma, while still preserving some citrus aromas. Rich in typical aromas of aging, such as walnuts, dried figs, toasted and cocoa. In the flavor is bulky but delicate, with the sweetness well balanced by the acidity, fresh and elegant. Contains sulfites.

The Favaios 10 Anos is a lot wine in which only the best Moscatel harvests are used for its constitution. In the years when nature allows conditions for the caste Moscatel express itself in all its splendor are made some fermentations with a careful selection of grapes. The fermentation takes about three days with intense skin maceration and temperature controlled to 15-16 ° C. The wine spirit is then added to the grapes and must stopped fermenting in order to obtain a wine with high alcohol content and residual sugar. Maceration has already in the presence of brandy it is kept for another 5-6 days always at low temperature. After pressing, the wine begins an aging process in wooden ferries for several years, improving the integration of the brandy with the wine and improving its bouquet. During the aging in wood are chosen the wines that will constitute the lot of Favaios 10 Years, mixing older harvests with younger ones, making the wine richer, more intense and more complex. In Favaios 10 Years, the most typical aromas of the Moscatel variety are felt like the orange peel and the floral ones like the color of orange, linden and roses. At the same time the most typical aromas of aging such as nuts, roasted and honey are evident. In the taste the wine is full of intensity, with excellent acidity that gives it unctuous and long balance. Contains sulfites.
