Hand-picked grapes, reception with total destemming and crushing immediately. Fermentation between 22-26ºC for 7 days with gentle maceration. Aging for 12 months in new French oak 1/3 and American 2/3 oak barrels. Very complex aroma where the notes of barrel harmoniously combine that add complexity to spices, black fruits, licorice and violets in a set that promises to improve in bottle year after year. Complexity, very concentrated aroma, vigorous and structured in the mouth with a thick texture. Contains sulfites.

The harvested grapes rested for 24 hours in a refrigerated container at 8º C in order to protect the integrity of the bunches. Following selection on a mat of choice, 30% destemmed and 70% whole bunches were introduced into the vat, allowing the extraction of color and aroma compounds more smoothly during 3 weeks of alcoholic fermentation entirely in stainless steel vats, having completed the malolactic fermentation. in stainless steel. After aging 50% of used 4-year-old barrels of 400 L and 225 L of French oak, where it remained for 12 months. Wine with a deep ruby-violet color, aromas of rockrose surrounded by notes of forest fruits in a typical Douro setting. In the mouth seductive with some rusticity conferred by the stems of the grapes, combined with a more intense minerality resulting in a modern, long, fine and vibrant profile. Contains sulfites.

After malolactic fermentation the wines were tranferred separately to new barrels (60%) and 4 years (40%) of French oak, where they trained for about 12 months until the final batch. After bottling, a temperature controlled stage of 15ºC is followed for 6 months in order to achieve the appropriate balance for its consumption. To preserve its great quality, it was bottled without treatment by the cold and without glue so that a slight deposit can form in the bottle. The elegance and balance of the Herdade do Peso Essência 2014 make this wine the perfect accompaniment to the tasty meat dishes of the rich Alentejo gastronomy.

Little brother of the consecrated Pintas, this is a wine that inherits its complexity giving it a more vigorous and seductive profile. With a slightly shorter stage and less percentage of new wood, its floral and fruity notes stand out strategically. Like people, vineyards also have different facets to explore. More lively and fresh, the Pintas Character is thus the expression of the younger side of the same 80-year-old vine that the Pintas produces.
Violet color very intense. Fruity and mineral with fresh notes of black cherry, plum and berries. Vigorous in the mouth with well integrated and velvety tannins associated with excellent fruit. Contains Sulfites.

The ripening period was less hot than usual and fresh temperatures allowed the grapes to have a good total acidity, an essential factor for a fresh and balanced palate. After a careful selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the fermentation took place in trunk-conical stainless vats and wooden vats, with maceration for about 60 days. It was then aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, of which 25% was new wood, where malolactic fermentation took place. Batuta shows a beautiful ruby color, intense and alive. A deep and complex aroma, although slightly restrained, its mineral and forest profile is in full harmony with the barrel notes. Over time in the glass, the wine will show several layers, in a very elegant register, with fresh spices such as black pepper and cloves. Slim and elegant in the mouth, with a silky texture and firm structure, it features very polished and luxurious tannins. Deep and multidimensional. Although young, it impresses by its balance.
