Beyra Rufete Red
Grapes from non-irrigated 100% Rufete vineyards, originating in two plots of granitic soils in the parish of Vermiosa, in the heart of the Douro International Natural Park, at an average altitude of 700 meters. Partial destemming and crushing. Integral fermentation in cement vats with indigenous yeasts without temperature control. Aging for 15 months in cement eggs, 10% of this batch aged in used French oak barrels. Complex aroma with sweet vegetable notes in combination with wild fruits and spices. Mineral character and a slight earthy touch, very identifying the variety. In the mouth it is a fresh wine, with soft but well present tannins, with spicy notes and slight minerality. Contains sulfites.
Quinta da Falorca Tradicional Blend Red
Quinta da Falorca Traditional Blend is produced with 33% Touriga Nacional, 28% Rufete, 21% Jaen, 12% Alfrocheiro and 6% Tinta Roriz. It was aged in French oak and stainless steel barrels. It is a very aromatic and tasty red, which has a medium body and soft tannins in the mouth. It has great aging potential. Contains sulfites.
Niepoort Batuta Red
The ripening period was less hot than usual and fresh temperatures allowed the grapes to have a good total acidity, an essential factor for a fresh and balanced palate. After a careful selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the fermentation took place in trunk-conical stainless vats and wooden vats, with maceration for about 60 days. It was then aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, of which 25% was new wood, where malolactic fermentation took place. Batuta shows a beautiful ruby color, intense and alive. A deep and complex aroma, although slightly restrained, its mineral and forest profile is in full harmony with the barrel notes. Over time in the glass, the wine will show several layers, in a very elegant register, with fresh spices such as black pepper and cloves. Slim and elegant in the mouth, with a silky texture and firm structure, it features very polished and luxurious tannins. Deep and multidimensional. Although young, it impresses by its balance. Quinta de CIdrô Rufete Red
The Rufete variety reveals nobility for its ability to produce exotic reds with great potential for evolution in the bottle. A round wine with soft tannins, full bodied but at the same time elegant, with aromas of black and red fruit. The wines of caste Rufete are light in comparison to the typical Douros, however, they demonstrate a unique personality ending with a very long end of mouth.
