Pretexto is a Portuguese red wine produced with grapes from different vineyards in the Dão region. These grapes came 90% from Penalva do Castelo (Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz) from vineyards at an altitude of 550-620 meters in quartz and clay soils and 10% from Vila Nova de Tazem (Touriga Nacional) from vineyards in soils of granite and at an altitude of 480-550 meters. All these vineyard plots are currently being converted to organic certification. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks with 30% whole bunch, followed by a 30-day cuvaison. The final batch aged in French oak vats (5000 L) and in barrels for 11 months. Naturally stabilized. With delicate aromas and lively red fruit character, the most evident being the cherry. The mouth accompanies the fruit combined with good acidity, some carbonic notes and a mentholated and balsamic profile.
