Grapes from old vineyards in the Douro Superior, with an average age over 40 years, in a “field blend”. Schist soils. 100% manual vintage, for small perforated boxes. Choice table reception. Stalk and crush. Cold maceration for 48 hours; alcoholic fermentation for 3 weeks with temperature control. Aging in new French oak barrels for 20 months. Notes of very ripe fruit, rockrose and spices, balanced with the freshness of Touriga Nacional. The long aging in the barrel added elegance and structure to the ensemble. Great aging potential. Contains sulfites.

The grapes were manually harvested into 25kg boxes and immediately transported to the cellar where they were stored in the cold chamber for 24 hours. This was followed by grape selection and pneumatic pressing and decanting. The alcoholic fermentation started in a stainless steel tank with selected yeasts. After fermentation starts, the must was transferred to 500L barrels. The wine was kept in contact with fine lees. Aging for 8 months in barrels with battonage. The nose shows white fruit involved in light, very discreet smoky notes. The palate is unctuous, balanced and with a good acidity that gives it a fresh and prolonged finish. Contains sulfites.
Soalheiro Granit White

The Soalheiro Granit reveals the more mineral side of the Alvarinho variety. It is a Alvarinho that leaves a specific selection of vineyards planted above 200 meters of altitude, revealing the minerality that relates the soil of granite origin of the terroir of Monção and Melgaço and the Alvarinho variety, improved with the batonage and the stage in the fine lees . The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a higher temperature than usual in white wines, showing an elegant and more mineral aroma with a dry and persistent finish. The Alvarinho grapes used in the Soalheiro Granit come from small-sized vineyards implanted in soil of granite origin above 200 meters altitude and located in the private microclimate of the Monção and Melgaço sub-region, the northernmost region of Portugal. The grapes, exclusively from the Alvarinho variety, are harvested manually in small capacity boxes and transported to the winery in a short time. After pressing, the decanted w decants for 48 hours, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a higher temperature than usual, using pre-selected yeasts for this purpose. The bottling takes place after the batonage and the stage in the fine lees. Citrine yellow color, aroma with the profile restrained and elegant with mineral notes and dry finish.
