Proibido Grande Reserva Tinto

The wine Proibido originates from old vines between 40 and 80 years old, from Vila Nova de Foz Côa. Small plots facing north or east, at altitudes between 250m and 500m. Almost all work is done by hand, without the use of herbicides or pesticides. When necessary, we plough the land with the help of a workhorse. In this way, we respect what the vineyard gives us and try to make the transformation of grapes into wine as natural as possible. After manual harvesting and transport to the winery in small crates (18kg-20kg), the bunches were destemmed and the grapes underwent gentle maceration and fermentation at low temperature. Aged for 15 months in used barrels. This wine presents well-defined black fruit on the nose with great intensity, toasted notes and spices. A well-balanced wine on the palate with a very long, persistent body and well-polished tannins. Contains sulphites.
