This fantastically scented 2011 is medium bodied, quintessentially elegant and loaded with flavor. Obviously the Moueixs devoted considerable time and money to updating this terroir, as recent wines were among the most impressive wines I have ever tasted from La Fleur-Petrus. This relatively advanced 2011 Pomerol should drink well for 10-15 years. Contains Sulfites.

Quintas de Borba Grand Reserve Red

This wine comes from selected grapes in the oldest vineyards in the Borba region. After rigorous control of the maturation evolution of the grapes in the vineyard, upon arrival at the winery the grapes were de-stemmed and gently crushed, followed by the alcoholic fermentation process in a stainless steel press, with mechanical treading, ending in maceration for 10 days, under temperature control at 22-25ºC. Malolactic fermentation took place in a small stainless steel tank. Aging for 12 months in new French, American and brown oak barrels prior to bottling and a final aging in the cellar for 12 months in bottle. Garnet color. Aroma of black fruit jam. Full flavor with soft, fruity and toasted tannins, with final freshness and sweet cocoa.
