A medium ruby color is followed by a live nose of sweet kirsch, raspberries, flowers and notes of dusty and solitary soil. This fantastically scented 2011 is medium bodied, quintessentially elegant and loaded with flavor. Obviously the Moueixs devoted considerable time and money to updating this terroir, as recent wines were among the most impressive wines I have ever tasted from La Fleur-Petrus. This relatively advanced 2011 Pomerol should drink well for 10-15 years. Contains Sulfites.

The grapes that make up this wine come from old vines planted in schist soil at an average altitude of 350 meters in the region between Freixo de Espada à Cinta and Barca d'Alva, in the Douro Superior. With exposure to the Northeast, we were able to obtain full-bodied red wines with an elegant profile. Hand picking vintage. Fermentation made by grape varieties to improve the rigor in the selection of the final blend that gives rise to this wine. Fermentation takes place in small-capacity stainless steel vats, with a controlled temperature of around 28ºC. Controlled maceration in order to obtain an aromatic and elegant wine. Aging for 12 months in French oak barrels. Balance between the intense flavor of red fruits and the elegance that comes from aging in French oak barrels for 12 months. Contains sulfites.

Aromatically it is a very fresh wine, with citrus fruit, in harmony with light floral nuances and strong mineral notes typical of the Terroir. The grapes are selected on the selection table, destemmed, followed by pre-fermentative maceration. Fermentation takes place in a mill and stainless steel vat with temperature control. After the malolactic fermentation stage, the wine aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels and second year French and American oak barrels. After bottling, it rested in a bottle in our cellar for 20 months. In order to preserve all of its qualities, it has not been stabilized and can naturally create deposits. Clear wine, deep violet red, aromas of plum, cherry, fig, chocolate, spices and floral notes of violet. Complex, structured, fresh and elegant, toasted oak barrels, smoked notes, rich tannins and long finish, revealing all the potential for aging and aging. Contains sulfites.

Grapes are harvested by hand into small boxes before being refrigerated and then pressed into a pneumatic press without destemming. Cold decanting, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled French oak barrels and regular bottling up to one month before bottling. Aging 11 months in used French oak barrels, with regular bâtonnage and 6 months in bottle. It is a wine of extraordinary rarity, with incredible precision and definition, an expectation of longevity of 25 or more years, and immediately established itself as a cult white wine.
