Vinha do Mouro White
8,89 €
Discover Vinha do Mouro White, an elegant wine from the vineyards located in Estremoz, at an altitude of 450 meters, under the influence of a continental Mediterranean climate that provides significant thermal amplitude during the maturation period. This microclimate is ideal for developing the complexity of the grapes.
This wine results from careful hand harvesting in 20 kg boxes, followed by an 8-hour skin maceration. The spontaneous fermentation of the grape blend occurs in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 18ºC for 2-3 weeks, with subsequent aging in vat and one year in bottle, ensuring ideal development.
Vinha do Mouro White boasts a vibrant citrine color and an attractive aroma that blends mineral notes with citrus and slightly underripe fruit nuances. On the palate, it is well-structured, with mouth volume and marked freshness, supported by excellent and unusual acidity for the region. Perfect for pairing with light dishes and seafood, it should be served at a temperature of 10-12ºC.
Pasmados Garrafeira White
19,07 €
This wine comes from the exclusive Quinta dos Pasmados region, in Azeitão. In 1998, the landmark decision was made to replace the Chardonnay grape variety with Viosinho, with the origin of Arinto and Esgana also being changed from clay-limestone soils to sandy soils. In 2005, with the aim of improving the complexity of the wine, the Viognier variety, cultivated in our vineyards for over 40 years, was added. Around 1999, winemaker Domingos Soares Franco came across several bottles of Pasmados White from 1963 in the cellars. Displaying a yellowish tone that testified to its natural aging, the aroma revealed evolution, remaining fine, velvety and subtly fruity. On the palate, it stands out for its pleasantness and surprisingly well structured, presenting exceptional quality and notable acidity. Inspired by this discovery, Domingos Soares Franco then decided to test the production of a Pasmados with aging potential, using the 1963 as a reference. The best vintages are stored in the cellar, small quantities of bottles being sold again years later under the almost forgotten name of Garrafeira. Also rescuing Garrafeira's classification, Pasmados Garrafeira was born. Contains sulfites.
