Vinha do Professor Grande Reserva Red

Vinha do Professor Grande Reserva Red is a gem from the old vineyards of Trás-os-Montes, a region famous for its ancestral vines, witnesses of hard work and resilience against natural and human adversities. This wine is not just a tribute to the land; It is also a celebration of the wisdom and dedication of generations, like that of the professor who, for decades, took care of these vineyards, bequeathing us a viticultural heritage of inestimable value. With vines that produce few bunches, each requiring individual attention, this wine is the result of a concentrated effort that translates into exceptional quality.
Composed of a harmonious blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela and Alicante Bouchet, Vinha do Professor reveals itself to be a surprisingly balanced wine, standing out for its freshness, acidity and solid structure. This Grande Reserva defies expectations with an intriguing and long aftertaste, marked by intense notes of pepper. This unique character invites you to explore it in pairing with a variety of dishes, from cheeses and sausages to meat and cod, proving to be a versatile wine with great potential for evolution. The grapes were harvested manually and transported to the cellar where they were destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 26–27°C. After finishing, we kept the wine in post-fermentation maceration for 5 days. The malolactic fermentation occurred naturally in a stainless steel tank and then it was transferred to barrels where it remained for 18 months. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and 36 months in bottle. Powerful nose with notes of black fruit wrapped in spices and tobacco. In the mouth, the intensity of the freshness of Cabernet Sauvignon stands out, followed by the creamy texture of Alicante Bouschet, which leads us to an elegant and persistent finish.
