Aged for 13 months in new 400L French oak barrels. In 2009, after yet another dry winter, hot summer conditions clearly indicated that an early harvest was likely and good weather and considerable heat throughout the final ripening period brought one of the earliest harvests at Quinta do Vesuvio. The combination of drought and very hot temperatures in August and September set the stage for a challenging crop. In fact, this was one of the smallest vintages in the Douro over the last 15 years, with some of the region’s main varietals failing in some areas under the difficult conditions. Contains sulfites.

The Kompassus Baga Private Collection 1991 is unique for the rare quality and quantity, and for this reason is released annually in limited quantities of 25 bottles. It is a commemorative edition and belongs to a Super Premium category. Made exclusively from the Baga variety, it was fermented in an open winery with sugar and aged in a 3000 liter tonl for a year and a half. In spite of his joyful 25 years, we still have a wine of intense color, very fine in the aroma and of great complexity of mouth. He shows himself to be the master of a great youth, full of strength and great refinement. In order to ensure the preservation of its quality for a quarter of a century, we only replace the cork so that it can be drunk and enjoyed without any embarrassment. Ruby color, very intense aroma of forest fruits. In the mouth it shows structure, density, freshness and elegance. Very long and persistent finish. Contains sulfites.
