In 2016, the year marking 25 years dedicated to wine production in Bairrada, João Póvoa celebrated the moment with the release of Kompassus Baga 1991 – Coleção Privada. A wine that, as the name suggests, is part of his personal collection, kept since he established himself in wine production with a registered trademark in 1991. The Kompassus Baga Coleção Privada 1991 is unique for its rare quality and scarce quantity, and is therefore released annually in limited quantities of 25 bottles. It is a commemorative edition and belongs to a Super Premium category. Made exclusively from the Baga grape variety, it underwent fermentation in an open lagar with stems and aged in a used 3000-liter tonel for a year and a half. Despite its youthful 25 years, we still have a wine of intense color, exceptionally fine aroma, and great complexity on the palate. It shows itself to be wonderfully youthful, full of strength and enormous refinement. To ensure the preservation of its quality for another quarter of a century, we have only replaced the cork, so that it can be drunk and enjoyed without any constraint.
