Proibido Marufo Red
17,80 €
The Marufo variety, very present in the old vineyards, has been in our best lots since 2012. With grapes from the Douro Superior, namely from a vineyard that is about 30 years old, we find a vineyard planted almost extreme with the Marufo (Mourisco) variety and 2018 was the year we let him shine solo. After manual harvesting, and transport to the cellar in small boxes (18kg-20kg), the grapes are trodden by foot in a small press. Fermentation started spontaneously and lasted approximately 20 days. The grapes were kept in the mill for about 2 months. Aging for 8 months in used 400L barrels. Aging in bottle for 3 months (slight addition of sulfur dioxide before filling). This wine has a red fruit aroma with slight smoky notes. With some tannin, this wine will evolve very well in the bottle. Contains sulfites.
