The Vintage Port of Castello d’Alba is only declared and bottled when the harvest is of the highest quality, as it was in 2011. This wine comes from a selection of the best noble breeds of the Upper Douro, very mature and healthy. Vinification of the grape together at a controlled temperature around 28-30ºC, with very long extraction, followed by the addition of 77% of aguardente at low temperature to maintain all the primary and secondary aromas. Contains sulfites.

Amber colored wine, on the nose it presents complex aromas with hints of spices and hazelnuts, in the mouth it is a delicate wine with an interesting retronasal attack accompanied by a pleasant and persistent finish.

Tread on foot in granite mills for 3 or 4 nights, with careful temperature control. Aged in oak barrels for 24 months before bottling. Very dark violet color and strong aromatic intensity. Well structured, like any classic vintage, it will certainly evolve in the bottle for several decades, but it is so rich and seductive that it becomes difficult to resist opening the bottle while still young.
