Pretexto Red

Pretexto is a Portuguese red wine produced with grapes from different vineyards in the Dão region. These grapes came 90% from Penalva do Castelo (Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz) from vineyards at an altitude of 550-620 meters in quartz and clay soils and 10% from Vila Nova de Tazem (Touriga Nacional) from vineyards in soils of granite and at an altitude of 480-550 meters. All these vineyard plots are currently being converted to organic certification. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks with 30% whole bunch, followed by a 30-day cuvaison.
