Explore Maçanita Vale da Barca White, a wine that emerges from the historic vineyards of Carlão, in Cima Corgo, planted in granite soils at 530 meters of altitude, with 140 years of history. This wine, the result of meticulous farming and manual harvesting, is revealed through direct whole-bunch pressing and spontaneous fermentation in barrels, culminating in a 12-month aging period in neutral barrels. In the glass, a spectacle of aromas unfolds that include ripe grapefruit, fruity nuances, Mediterranean herbs, flint and subtle spicy touches, displaying unparalleled nobility. The perfect reduction gives it additional complexity and tension. On the palate, the wine presents a masterful harmony between the strength of ancient vines, depth and an almost ethereal lightness. Despite its density, it maintains a fresh mineral core, with citrus and fruity notes that emerge gently, accompanied by a refreshing herbal aroma and saline minerality. Made from a “Vinha de Forcado” planted in 1932, located in Amarante, a viticulture system that grows through the trees and reaches almost 7 meters in height. The harvest is done with ladders. After manual harvesting, with the help of ladders, and transport to the cellar in small boxes (18kg-20kg), the bunches were destemmed, bag by bag, to a small mill, trodden on foot and then fermented in an amphora with indigenous yeasts. This was followed by light pressing and aging with the total lees in used barrels. In 2015 we enjoyed long and slow maturations that our older strains and our best plots have taken advantage of to provide grapes with an exemplary balance between acidity and tannins. The two grape varieties that benefited most with the exceptional goodness of nature were Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, providing grapes in perfect maturity. With raw material so good we prefer to work them little, letting the grapes speak for themselves. That's why we did little more than one walk on our wineries, according to the most traditional methods of the region, followed by a stage in new barrels and barrels of second year of French oak, letting the wine express itself in the purest form . Very fleshy red color. Tense and closed, concentrated and powerful, floral and fruity, it ends with some earthy notes that add complexity. Silky and velvety in texture, it is an intense and structured red, vigorous but not aggressive, complex and elegant, fresh finish and great guarding potential. Contains Sulfites.
