Located at 400 meters of altitude, a small village called Martim is surrounded by old vineyards of the Douro, each with its own soul. Soil, sun exposure, slope, altitude, age, mixture of grape varieties all influence the character of the wine resulting from these grapes. The Martim vineyard is part of a special plot, fermented in new French oak barrels for 9 months until bottling. Simply brilliant, this emphasizes your zing and zest in your youth, your core of acidity beautifully supporting the fruit. Grapes harvested by hand. The grape is received in the press and the tear must, collected from an open spout, ferments in stainless steel at around 16ºC. After 4 months in vats on fine lees, with light batonnage, the wine is bottled and subjected to a new stage of at least 3 months in bottle until it reaches the market. The color is citrine yellow, very bright. It has an intense and precise nose, reminiscent of orchard flowering, light pollination notes and an orange citrus. It evolves in the mouth towards green fruit, like the apple, but in the end the citruses of lemon predominate. Contains sulfites.

In the cellar José de Sousa still some ancestor techniques of vinification are used, being the most emblematic the use of the carving in the fermentation of the grapes. The essentials of small-scale winemaking have changed in recent centuries. In this wine, a small part is made according to this Roman process, the red grapes previously trodden on foot and destemmed by hand on a table called "table of ripanço". Afterwards, a small part of the must, the films and the stench are fermented in the clay pots, and another in the wine press. The remainder of the brand is fermented in stainless steel vats. The use of cutlery confers spices and a third dimension to wine. After fermentation, the wine has a skin maceration of 4 weeks, followed by 9 months in French and American oak casks. Red color loaded with scented dates, hay, plums, toasted bread, a little clove, oak wood, vanilla, chocolate. Palate with good fruit, good acidity, tannins present but soft. Long end of test. Contains Sulfites.
