Discover Bacalhôa Bical Vinhas Velhas 1931 White, a precious wine from Quinta da Rigodeira, acquired by Aliança Vinhos de Portugal in 2003. Located in the excellent wine region of Bairrada, between Fogueira and Ancas, this farm is home to notable plots, including a plantation from 1931, dedicated to the noble Bical grape variety.
This wine is distinguished by its unique aging: 60% of the batch fermented and matured for 12 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels, while the remaining 40% benefited from the purity and freshness provided by stainless steel.
It has an extremely pale greenish yellow color, revealing an intense, finely delicate aroma, with touches of white-fleshed fruit and soft toasted notes. The balance is masterful, leading to a long and intense finish, where mineral notes stand out, adding complexity and promising admirable longevity. Careful selection of grapes on a sorting mat, followed by total destemming, crushing and transport by gravity to stainless steel fermentation tanks. Pre-fermentative maceration at low temperature for 48 hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures between 25-27ºC. In view of the high qualitative potential demonstrated, an additional period of skin maceration was followed, enhancing the structure, depth and complexity of the wine, after which it was transferred to 225l oak barrels. Aged for 18 months in 90% French and 10% American oak barrels. Menin Douro’s New Legacy Reserva is a wine that has an intense ruby color, very fine aromas of sour cherry, cassis and dark chocolate, where at the same time it manifests balsamic and cherry notes, nutmeg and peppermint. It reveals a well-structured mouth, but full of harmony and freshness, with a long and persistent aftertaste.

The grapes, with 100% of stems, were deposited in stainless steel presses with automatic crushers, in a process with short maceration. After this phase, the wine started its malolactic fermentation in old wooden barrels, remaining in stage for about 22 months. Redoma Red reflects all the elegance, structure and acidity that only a region with the breadth of the Douro can express. The color is ruby, concentrated and when it is shaken in the glass, violet hints appear. The nose is delicate, with floral notes, of red fruits such as cherry, menthol nuances and a smoke that gives it complexity and character. In the mouth it has volume, it is round and spicy, precise and extremely balanced. It ends long and with an acidity that persists and gives it longevity. Contains sulfites.

These wines associate their quality with the name of the Carthusian monks who, since 1598, lead a solitary prayer life in the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli.
