Quinta dos Termos A Surpresa Red
Planting Baga at Quinta dos Terms was a thoughtful choice, but the first years of production did not live up to expectations. In 2011 everything was different, and the Baga variety produced the best wine of the harvest, when the first edition of A Surpresa wine was launched. In 2019, Baga once again showed all its attributes, justifying a reissue of this wine, which is only released in special years.

The best kept secret of Francisco Costa, better known in the football world as 'Costinha', and António Boal, from Costa Boal Family Estates, a red from old Trás-os-Montes vineyards and named 'Segredo 6'. A 3.5 hectare plot in Mirandela, Trás-os-Montes. This was a wine that aged in new French oak barrels (500 liters) for 16 months, and another year in the bottle. But it still has "great potential" for aging. Contains sulfites.

Wine with a lively and bright color, contained and elegant on the nose with notes of currant, wild aroma and red cherry, where they combine with the most earthy aromas and some pencil shavings and Indian ink. It has a more subtle vegetable side that blends perfectly with the spicy and slightly smoky notes. In the mouth, it is a wine that stands out for its balance, fine tuning and harmony. The tannin is of an impressive finesse and texture and the body is voluminous and rich.

Grapes harvested by hand, reception with partial stemming and immediate crushing. Natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement vats without temperature control, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aging for 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by aging in bottle for 36 months. Impactful, explosion of licorice / “liquorice”, black fruits, and spices, in harmony with very discreet notes of barrel. In the mouth, very structured with voluminous tannins, it suggests great longevity in the bottle and can be enjoyed now. Contains sulfites.

Aged in new 500 liter oak barrels for 16 months. Very intense red in color with violet reflections. Intense aroma, showing its fruity, floral, spicy side and with a slight menthol contributing to its aromatic lightness. In the mouth, it is very elegant, evolving into a wine of excellent volume and solid structure, composed of fresh tannins with a fine texture. A captivating wine that finishes in perfect balance, with pleasant sensations of freshness and very persistent. Contains sulfites.

Hand-picked grapes, reception with total destemming and immediate crushing. Fermentation without temperature control with wild yeasts, with gentle hand maceration. Aging in cement vats until bottling. Churchill’s Grafite Red
The name Grafite is a tribute to the artistic signature of our winemakers, who are dedicated to producing these wines in the most natural way possible. Grafite Tinto is our elegant interpretation of a classic Douro red. It presents aromas of wildflowers and dark berries, with smooth tannins and a touch of spice at the end. Deep violet color. Quinta de Carvalhiços Reserve Red
Aged for 4 months in used French oak barrels. A wine concentrated and deep in the aroma, with a floral edge of great intensity, forest, pine forest and wild berries. Dense mouth with good structure, with present and appealing tannins with discreet vanilla finish. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel with temperature control at 27°C, with grapes that had been destemmed.

Fermentation in granite presses, 10 days. Aged for 12 months in stainless steel. This wine is an overview of our capabilities, and a true sensory experience based on the principle of exposing natural flavors, with little intervention. It was made from grapes from our three main farms, and with various varieties, of which Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Tinta Roriz and Alfrocheiro stand out, from some very old vines and others more recent.

Vinhas da Teixuga Red is a monovarietal from Jaen, one of the typical grape varieties of the region, and shows the full potential of this variety, largely due to twelve months in French oak barrels, carefully selected to highlight the special characteristics of the variety. Quinta de São José Grand Reserve 2x Red
Purple and quite deep color, very complex and distinct aromas where the fruity and floral character predominates with spicy, fresh mint notes from the very discreet wood and well integrated into the wine. In the mouth it shows fruit, complexity with high-level tannins that give it a long aftertaste.
