Transfer to used 225L French oak barrels for 12 months. Ruby color of medium concentration. Aroma of black fruit and some spices, such as black pepper. A fresh and elegant wine, with an expressive structure and finish and good persistence. Balance between the influence of the barrel and acidity. It combines perfectly with roasted meat, dishes with dried fruits, mushrooms and soft cheeses.
Sandeman Vintage 2016 Ruby
Outstanding for its exceptional features, the Sandeman Porto Vintage 2016 is a wine that will age in the bottle for 30 or 40 years. This excellent Vintage Porto 2016 is an example of Sandeman's commitment to the quality of Port wine. This wine has an opaque, almost black color. The aroma is intense and complex, with prominent notes of ripe black fruit, resin as well as notes of cocoa and chocolate as a result of its excellent maturation. Great volume on the palate with a vibrant, fresh acidity, firm, high-quality tannins, floral notes of stew and notes of black fruit and chocolate. A great invitation for the very long and elegant finale. Using the traditional technology of Port Wine, this wine was vinified in the Quinta do Seixo winery, grapes originating both there and in Quinta do Vau. In honor of the Founder, this Reserve is one of the largest Ports of Sandeman. Selected from the best 'lots' of each vintage and aged for 5 years. Intense ruby ??red color, bright and clean. The Founder's Reserve of this Port is produced by the traditional method of Port Wine. The grapes harvested are subjected to stem removal and crushing before fermentation, under temperature control, with maceration of the skin, in order to extract the best components. The addition of wine to alcohol at the ideal time establishes the balance between the body and the bouquet of wine. This moment is chosen by the oenologist after rigorous control of fermentation temperatures and densities, the second depends on the grape variety, the stage of maturation and the final sweetness required.
