Aged for 13 months in new 400L French oak barrels. In 2009, after yet another dry winter, hot summer conditions clearly indicated that an early harvest was likely and good weather and considerable heat throughout the final ripening period brought one of the earliest harvests at Quinta do Vesuvio. The combination of drought and very hot temperatures in August and September set the stage for a challenging crop. In fact, this was one of the smallest vintages in the Douro over the last 15 years, with some of the region’s main varietals failing in some areas under the difficult conditions. Contains sulfites.

Fermentation takes place in new 550 liter French oak barrels in a temperature-controlled cellar at 18ºC. About 6 months in French oak barrels, on the lees of fermentation accompanied by batonnage, to provide the integration between the wood and the wine, increasing its creaminess and depth. After filling, it remained in the bottle for 6 months, during which it had a controlled maturation that promoted the characteristic complexity of this wine. It presents a straw color with greenish tinges. Aromas of white plum and ripe lemon, fresh almond, spices and white chocolate. Rich and intense palate, where white flesh fruit stands out, complemented with white pepper and nutmeg. Intense, with an elegant and persistent finish. Contains sulfites.

The grapes, from previously selected plots, were transported in 22 kg food plastic boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the entrance to the cellar. They were subsequently destemmed and pressed. The pressed wort was transferred to a stainless steel vat where it was kept at a temperature of 8ºC for 48 hours until decanting. Then, alcoholic fermentation took place in a stainless steel vat with controlled temperatures of 14º C for a period of 30 days. Aging 3 months in stainless steel vats. Bright citrus colored wine, with expressive aromas of tropical fruits reminiscent of fresh passion fruit, in perfect harmony with soft floral notes. Starts in the mouth tasting in a captivating way, evolving into a balanced wine, of medium volume and structure, very well integrated with excellent sensations of minerality. A seductive wine that finishes fresh and with a pleasant persistence. Contains Sulfites.
