Aged for 13 months in new 400L French oak barrels. In 2009, after yet another dry winter, hot summer conditions clearly indicated that an early harvest was likely and good weather and considerable heat throughout the final ripening period brought one of the earliest harvests at Quinta do Vesuvio. The combination of drought and very hot temperatures in August and September set the stage for a challenging crop. In fact, this was one of the smallest vintages in the Douro over the last 15 years, with some of the region’s main varietals failing in some areas under the difficult conditions. Contains sulfites.

Discover the Quinta da Rede Grande Reserva Red, a superior expression of Douro wines from the Lower Corgo sub-region. This wine is the result of a meticulous vinification process that includes total destemming, prolonged and gentle skin maceration, and alcoholic fermentation in robotic lagares at 26ºC.
After fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in new French oak barrels, developing an intense garnet color with violet hues. On the nose, it displays a rich aromatic complexity with notes of wild berries, rockrose, and various spices, complemented by a captivating smoky touch.

Try Tapada de Coelheiros Sobreira Red, an exceptional wine that comes from the slopes of Vinha da Sobreira, meticulously cultivated with the Syrah variety since 2001. Located among cork oaks, this vineyard benefits from sandy clay soil, complemented by the northwest exposure, which gives the wine unique characteristics. The conversion to organic farming in 2017 and biodynamic farming in 2020 underlines the commitment to sustainability and soil regeneration.
Winemaking begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by a careful process of de-stemming and partial crushing. Chryseia 2021 was produced from a rigorous selection of grapes from Quinta de Roriz and Quinta da Perdiz, properties of Prats & Symington. As in all previous editions of Chryseia, there was also the usual contribution from Roriz's neighboring vineyard, Quinta da Vila Velha, privately owned by Rupert Symington. It symbolizes the union of the noble Portuguese wine heritage with the no less rich Bordeaux oenological tradition.
