Aged for 13 months in new 400L French oak barrels. In 2009, after yet another dry winter, hot summer conditions clearly indicated that an early harvest was likely and good weather and considerable heat throughout the final ripening period brought one of the earliest harvests at Quinta do Vesuvio. The combination of drought and very hot temperatures in August and September set the stage for a challenging crop. In fact, this was one of the smallest vintages in the Douro over the last 15 years, with some of the region’s main varietals failing in some areas under the difficult conditions. Contains sulfites.

White produced from traditional Alentejo grape varieties: Arinto, Alicante White and old blended vines, with minimal intervention, without the addition of sulfur dioxide until the end of fermentation and spontaneous fermentation in barrels and long aging on lees. After destemming and pressing, the tear wort was statically decanted for 48 hours. Fermentation and aging take place in a 2500 L French oak barrel (50%) and in cement (50%). The wine ages for 11 months “sur lie” without batonnage, followed by another 10 months in stainless steel. Texture of Estrela Branco is a white with a complex aroma. Orange peel, raw nuts and dried tea leaf are the most obvious. In the mouth, it has remarkable acidity and minerality, the citrus fruit is highlighted as well as a creamy texture from the fermentation in a wooden barrel, well integrated. Contains sulfites.
Caminhos Cruzados Reserva Red

Manual harvest in 15 kg boxes. Manual selection of grapes on a sorting mat. After destemming and crushing, the different varieties are vinified individually in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, with maceration being considered appropriate for their characteristics. After malolactic fermentation, part of the batch aged in French oak barrels for about 20 months, and the rest in stainless steel vats. its gently floral and fruity components, and its lush and dense structure in the mouth, refreshed by the fluidity and delicacy of Alfrocheiro. A set in which the notes of French oak wood where it was aged are very well integrated. Contains sulfites.
Villa Oliveira Touriga Nacional Red

This wine expresses the desire to make a Touriga Nacional from old vines. In a region where the old vineyard consists of a wide range of grape varieties mixed in the same plot. In 2009, 3,500 kg of Touriga Nacional were harvested from a single 80-year-old vineyard, which implied making a choice of Touriga Nacional grape varieties in the large set of grape varieties of that parcel. Vinification was done in a cement vat with pre- and post-fermentative maceration. Aging for 1 year in 225 liter French oak barrels. Opaque red color, aroma of red fruits with spicy notes. Full-bodied, fresh and elegant. Long aftertaste. Contains sulfites.
Quinta da Pellada Alfrocheiro Red

The grapes were vinified respecting all their nature, vinification was done by hand, without pump, natural and minimal yeast extraction. Quinta da Pellada Alfrocheiro is a smooth, dark wine with chocolate on the nose. The palate is bold and structured with elegant dominant smooth fruit. Still in development, with some obvious oak. Contains Sulfites.
Quinta do Vallado DOC White

Floral aroma and very ripe fruit with some notes of melon. Very mineral and fresh, with balanced and persistent flavor with citric notes. The grapes, coming from new vines, were vinified in the open spout system. The fermentation lasted about 1 month with controlled temperature between 14º to 16º C.

It comes from vines planted with the Baga variety in granite soil. The grapes are not de-stemmed and only partially crushed. Malolactic fermentation and aging takes place in 500 liter barrels. Lightly loaded open color. Aromas of forest and wild fruits, in a combination of great vivacity and freshness. Smooth and very long aftertaste. Contains sulfites.
