Quinta das Bágeiras Pai Abel Red
75,00 €
The grapes of this wine come from a plot with the two varieties mixed, trying to replicate the type of planting of a century-old vineyard. Also for this purpose, and through interventions in the vineyard, production was limited to two or three bunches per vine. The grapes of the two grape varieties, harvested at the same time, and without destemming, leavened for about a week in an open mill. During this time, wood masses were rerun several times a day until the wine reached the correct intensity. Finally, the wine finished fermentation in used barrels of Burgundy (French oak) where it staged. It then passed to a small barrel of wood where it remained until bottling without any gluing or filtering. Contains Sulfites.

Pretexto White is a blend of traditional Dão grapes from high altitude vineyards and granitic soils, hand-picked. White Pretext was statically decanted and naturally fermented in stainless steel and cement vats. This was followed by a stage on lees in the same deposits and only 10% in new French oak barrels. Delicate aromas associated with the character of white fruit from the region such as Bravo de Esmolfe apple. Mineral notes respecting the granite soils that originate it. The mouth accompanies the fruit on its more citrusy side, combined with a good freshness. Very pleasant, with some creaminess and a very dry, saline and long finish. It is a blend that speaks for the vineyards and soils that originate it. Contains sulfites.
