Quinta das Bágeiras Pai Abel Tinto

The grapes for this wine come from a plot where the two grape varieties are mixed, aiming to replicate the planting style of a centenary vineyard. With this same goal, and through vineyard interventions, production was limited to two or three bunches per vine. The grapes from both varieties, harvested at the same time and without destemming, fermented for about a week in an open lagar. During this time, punch-downs were carried out with wooden tools several times a day until the wine reached the desired intensity. Finally, the wine finished its fermentation in used Burgundy barrels (French oak) where it aged. It was then transferred to a small wooden barrel where it remained until bottling without any fining or filtering. Contains sulfites.
