Maria Antonieta Red

Discover Maria Antonieta Red, an elegant and complex wine from the Montargil region, in Portalegre, Alentejo. This organic wine, a tribute to the family matriarch, is produced exclusively with Touriga Nacional grapes, grown in pebble soils that highlight the delicacy and unique character of the variety. The proximity to the Montargil Dam creates a cool and humid microclimate, ideal for the full development of the grapes.

Vinification involves careful manual harvesting, with total stemming and light crushing, followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel mills at controlled temperatures. The wine matures for 23 months in used French oak barrels, gaining complexity and a polished structure.

On the palate, Maria Antonieta Red reveals aromas of red fruit, sour cherry and ripe plum, complemented by touches of licorice and well-integrated wood. In the mouth, it is dense and elegant, with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Ideal to accompany meat, game, cheese and sausage dishes, this wine reveals itself even better if previously decanted.
