Caves São João 95 anos de História White

This wine, made in an ancestral way, without addition of oenological products, except for sulfur dioxide, was created from the best grapes of the Arinto grape variety from our Quinta do Poço do Lobo, which were manually harvested on September 23, 2014, de-stemmed and crushed, then macerated for 48 houre. After pressind the wine masses, the wort was clarified and fermented in French oak narrles. After the alcoholic fermentation, battonage was carried out for 4 months. The stage on lees, in barrel, lasted for 8 months. It was bottled directly from the barrels in July 2015, without any clarification, as was once the custom. Contains Sulfites.

Very deep red color and dense. Intense and complex aroma, dominated by ripe black fruits such as blackberry and cassis, floral aromas such as violet and complexed by the aromas from its "elevage" in barrel. There are still some characteristic aromas of the evolution in the bottle, which contribute to increase still its great complexity. It is a concentrated, dense, high-structure wine. It has a balanced acidity, firm and very mature tannins, well wrapped in its body and volume. Its balance lies in a set of sensations, where concentration, wealth and strength become decisive. These characteristics, together with the high intensity of its retronasal aroma, give it high end of persistence, which allows for a long evolution. Contains Sulfites.

On the plateau of Alijó, Samarrinho benefits from a cool climate which gives it a very interesting aromatic profile and a lot of acidity. However, it is in the warmer years of the Douro that Samarrinho presents the best wines, proving to be a very Douro variety! After being pressed in a pneumatic press, fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats without skin contact. The aging takes place over a period of 6 months, thus preserving all the freshness and varietal character of this fantastic grape variety. A great and very fresh white Douro that at first impression has slight nuances of minerals, followed by charming notes of white fruit. A very harmonious wine, showing itself intense and delicate at the same time with a lot of freshness and excellent volume of tasting and with surprising minerality. Quinta dos Murças Minas, coming from the Douro region. Manual harvesting, sorting table, destemming, crushing, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures (25º to 28ºC) in granite mills with foot step and pressing in an old vertical press. In concrete vats and used French oak barrels, for about 9 months. Intense color with violet lines. Exuberant and concentrated aroma where the ripe red and black fruits dominate, some floral aromas and balsamic aromas, as the esteva. Palate dominated by freshness and liveliness, it has firm and ripe tannins, with a well-rounded acidity. It finishes long and persistent, standing out the balance between its freshness and maturation. Contains Sulfites.
