This launch sets another milestone for Blandy’s, as a wine that has aged for 100 years in American oak casks and in glass bottles. Only 1,199 bottles were launched, individually numbered of this centenary wine. Light and bright dark mahogany color with a golden nuance and greenish reflections. On the nose it is complex and very characteristic, it is fine, intense, reveals a bouquet of dried fruit, exotic spices, vanilla, smoked notes mixed with cedar oil and balms. On the palate it is very concentrated and powerful, medium sweet, very balanced and smooth, its leaves have a very long aftertaste with notes of tobacco, exotic woods, cedar oil and wax. Blandy’s Malmsey Rich 15 Anos
Blandy's Malvasia 15 years old fermentes with natural yeasts at a temperature between 18 and 21ºC in stainless steel vats with controlled temperature. Approximately after 48 hours, the fortification is carried out with wine alcohol (96%), in order to preserve the desired natural sugar content. It is aged for 15 years in American oak casks following the traditional 'Canteiro' process. This includes a delicate heating of the wine in the attic of the warehouses in Funchal. Over the years, the wine is transferred from the upper floors to the intermediate floors, and eventually to the floor level where it is cooler. After this 'gradual stuffing', the wine is filtered and clarified before being bottled. Clear color and intense golden brown and a pronounced tear. Characteristic bouquet of great complexity of nuts and wood, caramel and vanilla. Sweet, soft, full-bodied and complex, with a long finish of dried fruit and dark chocolate. Contains sulfites.
Moscatel Bacalhôa
Aging 1 year in used oak barrels. This Moscatel de Setúbal has a young and fruity style, topaz color, an intense muscat aroma, orange blossom, citrus orange peel, candied fruit, tea and raisins; in the mouth it is full-bodied, the aroma is intense and enhanced, being combined with sensations of bitter sweet, having a very long and persistent finish. Contains sulfites.
Barbeito Malvasia Reserva Velha 10 Anos
Grapes from several quality vineyards in the Arco de São Jorge area. Grapes pressed in continuous press. Interruption of fermentation through the addition of vinous alcohol (96%). Malvasia aged in Canteiro for 10 years in French oak casks. For this batch, we selected wines from our warehouses, whose stable temperatures throughout the year gave rise to this wine with balanced levels of sugar and acidity. Shiny gold. Floral aromas, ripe citrus, almonds and honey. Voluminous, soft and balanced, long and persistent finish. Contains sulfites.
