Elegant and very fresh aroma with notes of citrus and wet stone. Very good structure in the mouth, with minerality and vibrant acidity. Contains sulfites.

50% of the stemmed grapes and 50% of the destemmed grapes fermented for 15 days at controlled temperatures between 20 and 23ºC, with little skin maceration. After fermentation, it was transferred to French oak barrels of several years where the malolactic fermentation took place and remained for 10 months. Unfiltered wine, subject to deposit. Early maturing variety with little color. This wine is characterized by the aroma of wild berries, balsamic and with some notes of tobacco. The Dom Rafael red stalks in casks of Portuguese chestnut and oak and in French oak barrels for 12 months, after which it staged for at least another 6 months in the bottle. Over the years this is a wine that is increasingly smooth, complex and balanced. The grapes that make up this wine come from old vines planted in schist soil at an average altitude of 350 meters in the region between Freixo de Espada à Cinta and Barca d'Alva, in the Douro Superior. With exposure to the Northeast, we were able to obtain full-bodied red wines with an elegant profile. Hand picking vintage. Fermentation made by grape varieties to improve the rigor in the selection of the final blend that gives rise to this wine.
