Quinta do Piloto Collection Touriga Nacional gives you to taste the most noble of Portuguese grape varieties, which it transmits to wine, elaborated by the traditional methods of the Quinta and by an ancient knowledge, floral and vanilla notes, making it unique, soft and balanced. Its fermentation also took place in mills with temperature control and automatic treading. It aged for about 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Casal Santa Maria Bruma Red
The grapes were harvested by hand, carefully selected in the vineyard and cellar. After lightly crushing the grapes, it was followed by cold maceration in stainless steel vats open for 3 days. Fermentation took 2 weeks with daily pumping over. After the fermentation was over, the mills were closed and kept like this for 2 weeks. The wine aged for 14 months in new and used 225L French oak barrels. Intense aroma with notes of spices, balsamic, floral and cedar. From the Merlot variety, the aromas come with notes of green pepper and chocolate. In the mouth, soft and ripe tannins, filled with the freshness and red fruit typical of Touriga Nacional. Filipa Pato Nossa Missão Red
Missão, is a small centennial vineyard of 0.57 hectares with pre-phylloxeric vines of over 100 years. Production is limited to only 500 bottles and 30 magnums. It is located on a gentle slope with east orientation, the soil is of limestone origin from the Lower Jurassic era, with reddish clay. The cultivation and harvesting are totally manual and the sorting of the grapes is done in the vineyard itself. A part of the grapes are destemmed, and the percentage of whole grapes depends on the conditions of each harvest. Fermentation takes place slowly for about 3 weeks, with indigenous yeasts, the flow is smooth and long. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine drains by gravity and the masses are pressed. The whole fills only a traditional 500 liter kite where it stays for 18 months in our basement. The "Missão" is a remarkable wine for its pure expression of Berry. While young, the aromas resemble violet and strawberry. After 7-9 years, the aromas become more complex with a lot of energy and concentration. The tannins, although very alive, are soft, lively acidity, long finish, irreverent and elegant. It is a wine with long aging potential. Contains Sulfites.

Quinta da Pellada Casa has aged in French barrels of eight years for about 28 months. This wine is another of the lessons of the winery in the terroir of this issue: this portion of Pellada is the "most exposed" of the three and has a more compact soil with some clay besides granite, the intense presence of pink / white quartz and the one that has more hours of sunshine per day. "With grapes buying small parcels I make 1/2 barrels of wine and one of these wines is called the Golden Tooth, because the woman who sold me has a golden tooth." Quinta da Pellada Dente D'Ouro spent 16 months in used French oak barrels. The wine is composed of several native grape varieties, mainly Jaen and Baga. The grapes come from a very old vineyard with vineyards, which are between 80 and 100 years old. It is very important for Alvaro Castro to show that it is indeed possible to revive the tradition of blends of native fields and vines in his Dao area. The wine shines with ruby red with violet nuances. It shows a beautiful fresh and mineral scent, thin and incredibly complex, with notes of blackberry and plum. On the palate, a medium concentration, blueberry aromas, notes of spices and some earthy notes, plus unlikely silky tannins, absolutely attractive. A light red wine, elegant and very fresh, juicy, with mineral notes and berries, at a long, deep and very thin finish. Wonderfully multi-layered and with elegant precision. Simply sublime!
