It is a Dão red wine produced from a single plot in Dão in Gouveia, sub-region of Serra da Estrela. An old vineyard on poor granite soils, 55 years old and at an altitude of 600 meters, is planted in the old Dão way with a mixture of white and red grape varieties. The grapes were fermented in a used French oak vat (40% whole bunches) with indigenous yeasts only, followed by post-fermentation maceration for 30 days. Texture Pura red aged for 16 months in a used 3,000L French oak barrel and in used 225L French oak barrels for 16 months. It is a distinctive red wine, with delicate aromas of fresh red fruits, such as cherry and currant, some spices and forest aromas. In the mouth, it has remarkable acidity and minerality, very fine tannins. It is refined and pure with the ever present fruit. Long and complex finish.
