Quinta do Vesuvio is considered as the most emblematic property of the Douro Valley. This legendary vineyard stands out for its remote location and grand scale. It was acquired in 1989 by the Symington family, whose experience in the Douro dates back to several centuries. The Quinta is the last large Douro estate that keeps granite lagoon treading as an exclusive method in the production of its Port wines, continuing a tradition dating back to 1827. Niepoort Vintage 2019 Ruby
81,17 €
All Vintage 2019 components were trodden in granite presses with 100% stalk. The wines were transferred shortly after the harvest, aging in the Douro, in barrels, during the winter. The appearance is marked by a wonderful dark purple border and a great depth of color. The aroma is fine and moderate, with primary notes of dark fruits and some spices. The true style and potential of this wine come together on the palate, with a wonderful integration of dark fruits and a grainy tannic structure; an extraordinary balance between volume and elegance, resulting in an impressive aftertaste. In short, the primary fruit in the mouth can be appealing at this stage, but it is the balanced tannic structure that indicates the great aging potential of this wine in the future. Contains sulfites.
