Quinta do Vesúvio DOC 2009 Red
93,99 €

In 2009, after yet another dry winter, hot summer conditions clearly indicated that an early harvest was likely and good weather and considerable heat throughout the final ripening period brought one of the earliest harvests at Quinta do Vesuvio. The combination of drought and very hot temperatures in August and September set the stage for a challenging crop. In fact, this was one of the smallest vintages in the Douro over the last 15 years, with some of the region’s main varietals failing in some areas under the difficult conditions. Contains sulfites.

12,20 €
Ribeiro Santo Touriga Nacional is a concentrated wine, ruby color with violet lavas. Expressive aroma with blackberries and cherries, field flowers and notes of spices. Medium body, mineral, with a good acidity to give freshness, fine tannins and final firm and spicy. The harvest took place at the end of September. The grapes were harvested manually, for small boxes of 18 kg, according to a careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard. The grapes were completely destemmed for small stainless mills, where they macerated 24 hours at low temperature, before beginning the alcoholic fermentation, with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature. The alcoholic fermentation lasted about 15 days, with gentle remonstrances for a good extraction of color and aromas. After fermentation, it was transferred to new French oak barrels, where it remained for 12 months until bottling. Contains Sulfites.
