Menin Douro’s New Legacy Reserve Red
112,99 €
Careful selection of grapes on a sorting mat, followed by total destemming, crushing and transport by gravity to stainless steel fermentation tanks. Pre-fermentative maceration at low temperature for 48 hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures between 25-27ºC. In view of the high qualitative potential demonstrated, an additional period of skin maceration was followed, enhancing the structure, depth and complexity of the wine, after which it was transferred to 225l oak barrels. Aged for 18 months in 90% French and 10% American oak barrels. Menin Douro’s New Legacy Reserva is a wine that has an intense ruby color, very fine aromas of sour cherry, cassis and dark chocolate, where at the same time it manifests balsamic and cherry notes, nutmeg and peppermint. It reveals a well-structured mouth, but full of harmony and freshness, with a long and persistent aftertaste.
José de Sousa Magnum Red
14,87 €
At the José de Sousa winery, some ancestral winemaking techniques are still used, the most emblematic being the use of carving in the fermentation of the grapes. The essentials of carving winemaking have changed little in recent centuries. In this wine, a small part is made according to this Roman process, the red grapes previously trodden by foot and hand-de-stemmed on a table called “mesa de ripanço”. Afterwards, a small part of the must, the skins and the stalk are fermented in clay pots, and another in vats. The remainder of the brand is fermented in stainless steel vats. The use of jars gives spices and a third dimension to the wine. After fermentation, the wine undergoes a 4-week pellicular maceration, followed by a 9-month aging period in French and American oak casks. Deep red color, with aromas of dates, hay, plums, toasted bread, a little clove, oak wood, vanilla, chocolate. Palate with good fruit, good acidity, present but soft tannins. Long finish.

Aging for 12 months in French oak barrels. The grapes were harvested at their optimum phenolic / aromatic ripening point. After destemming and gentle crushing, a 4-day pre-fermentative maceration was performed to increase its complexity. Fermented at 26ºC with gentle pumping over, preserving the fruit and extracting smooth tannins important for the balance of the final wine. Wine with an intense, complex and attractive aroma. A blend of aromas from the most fruity side to the most shrubby side. In the mouth it presents volume, very well integrated tannins and good acidity, which make it an extremely "greedy" wine. Contains sulfites.
