This wine, made in an ancestral way, without addition of oenological products, except for sulfur dioxide, was created from the best grapes of the Arinto grape variety from our Quinta do Poço do Lobo, which were manually harvested on September 23, 2014, de-stemmed and crushed, then macerated for 48 houre. After pressind the wine masses, the wort was clarified and fermented in French oak narrles. After the alcoholic fermentation, battonage was carried out for 4 months. The stage on lees, in barrel, lasted for 8 months. It was bottled directly from the barrels in July 2015, without any clarification, as was once the custom. Contains Sulfites.

The grapes are selected on the selection table, destemmed, followed by pre-fermentative maceration. Fermentation takes place in a mill and stainless steel vat with temperature control. After the malolactic fermentation stage, the wine aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels and second year French and American oak barrels. After bottling, it rested in a bottle in our cellar for 20 months. In order to preserve all of its qualities, it has not been stabilized and can naturally create deposits. Clear wine, deep violet red, aromas of plum, cherry, fig, chocolate, spices and floral notes of violet. Complex, structured, fresh and elegant, toasted oak barrels, smoked notes, rich tannins and long finish, revealing all the potential for aging and aging. Contains sulfites.
QUINTA DAS MAIAS Red

MAIAS wine comes from the Quinta das Maias property, in organic farming, which is located at about 600 meters of altitude in the foothills of Serra da Estrela. The name derives from the yellow broom that covers the slopes of the mountain and here they are called «Mayas» because they bloom in the month of May.
The wines are characterized by the freshness of grapes from vines planted at altitude and by sandy granite-based soils.
This wine has as main grape varieties Jaen and Touriga Nacional, two of the best grape varieties in the Iberian Peninsula. The combination of these two grape varieties presents aromas of blackberries and sloes in perfect balance with the fresh and subtle texture.

Fermentation in mills equipped with a mechanical treading robot and Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. An exuberant aromatic intensity and cocoa, mint and currants, which result in an appealing tasting, with well present and integrated tannins. Persistent and long aftertaste. Contains sulfites.

Vineyard age over 70 years. Aging for 24 months in French oak barrels. Opaque ruby color, intense and complex aroma of very ripe red fruits. It also features quality wood and spice notes.
