In the mouth it reveals great impact, voluminous and enveloping. Very different tannins, notes of apricot and peach. Medium in a fresh and dry mouth, at the end you can clearly see the richness of this different wine with notes of toasted and well salted nuts. Manual harvest, uncrushed grapes, carbonic maceration with fermentation starter with whole berry. Manual reassembly 2x day and temperature 24ºC. overlapping stage for 365 days until the harvest date of the new harvest. Static decantation for 6 months and consequent stage on lees. 1 year aging in bottle before coming to the market. Contains Sulfites.

The grapes from several very old vineyards in the Alto Douro Vinhateiro (Mêda) were pressed in whole bunches, in order to extract the freshest and most vibrant must possible. Keeping the origin of each vineyard, the musts followed the alcoholic fermentation in new 500L French oak barrels. Fermentation process from indigenous yeasts, brings more complexity and character to wines. Long maturation on total lees (12 months). Malolactic partials make up the Burgundian-inspired route. Concise, elegant, frank, expressive. Fresh citrus notes with great notoriety, lime, grapefruit, flower, white fruit, irreproachable trace of pure minerality. Aroma: Expressive in the nose, with floral and mineral notes and ripe fruit.
Taste: Personality of the 3 grape varieties, floral notes, spices and tannin volume. End of mouth very persistent.
It is an intense, mature wine, specific to the "Terroir" of the Douro, a positive aging in the bottle is foreseen for many years after the bottling. It combines with buttery goat and sheep cheeses, traditional sausages, red meats, delicate and consistent dishes. Contains Sulfites.
Adega de Borba Reserva Red

With grapes from the most typical Alentejo grape varieties produced in the sub-region of Borba, the label Cortiça wine was produced, a true ex-libris from the Adega de Borba. Coming from old vines, the grapes had a strict control in the evolution of the maturation, having been harvested in small quantities. In the Cellar, after the destemming and soft crushing of the grape, the alcoholic fermentation began, which lasted for about 10-15 days with the temperature controlled at 24ºC, for greater extraction of the aromas and fruity flavors of the grape. In order to increase the polyphenolic complexity, the tannins and the structure of the wine, it remained in the vat in a post-fermentative maceration process. The malolactic fermentation occurred later in stainless steel containers. To enhance and elevate its organoleptic characteristics, the wine aged 12 months in 3rd and 4th year barrels, French oak and exotic wood barrels. followed by a six-month bottling stage in the basement. Aroma fine and elegant, suggesting black fruits, compote and white chocolate. Contains Sulfites.
