Crasto Superior White

The grapes, coming from the Douro Superior, were transported in 22 kg boxes and subjected to rigorous sorting at the entrance to the winery. They were later de-stemmed and pressed. The pressed must was transferred to a stainless steel tank where it was kept at a temperature of 8ºC for 48 hours until it was decanted. Afterwards, the alcoholic fermentation started in a stainless steel tank and later the wine was transferred to French oak barrels where the fermentation ended at a temperature of 14ºC for a period of 45 days. Crasto Superior aged in French oak barrels, where it remained for 6 months, in the process of working fine lees “bâtonnage”, with the barrels resting on a rotating system that allows the lees to be lifted without incorporating oxygen. It has a pale lemon color, has an excellent freshness and minerality on the nose, well integrated with fresh citrus fruit notes. Evolves in the mouth in a captivating way to a wine of great seriousness, with a vibrant acidity and great volume, very fresh and mineral. A wine with a gastronomic profile that ends up seductive and with enormous persistence. Contains sulfites.

With a rich ruby color, with an excellent aromatic expression that surprises on the nose for the intense floral notes, well integrated with aromas of ripe wild fruits and fine spice. After a complete destemming and a slight crushing, the must was transferred to fermentation vats in stainless steel with controlled temperature. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, a soft pressing was carried out. It is a rich violet colored wine, with elegant violet notes on the nose, in perfect harmony with soft notes of fresh spice and wild Douro fruits. Starts the mouth tasting in a harmonious way, evolving into a wine with excellent volume and fine texture tannins very well matched with violet aromas. The pressed wort was transferred to a stainless steel vat where it was kept at a temperature of 8ºC for 48 hours until decanting. Then, alcoholic fermentation took place in a stainless steel vat with controlled temperatures of 14º C for a period of 30 days. Aging 3 months in stainless steel vats. Bright citrus colored wine, with expressive aromas of tropical fruits reminiscent of fresh passion fruit, in perfect harmony with soft floral notes. Starts in the mouth tasting in a captivating way, evolving into a balanced wine, of medium volume and structure, very well integrated with excellent sensations of minerality. QUINTA DAS MAIAS White

MAIAS wine comes from the Quinta das Maias property, in organic farming, which is located at about 600 meters of altitude in the foothills of Serra da Estrela. The name derives from the yellow broom that covers the slopes of the mountain and here they are called «Mayas» because they bloom in the month of May. The wines are characterized by the freshness of grapes from vines planted at altitude and by sandy granite-based soils. This woodless white wine is dominated by the Malvasia Fina and Encruzado grape varieties, which contributes to the floral and plum notes with fresh and elegant aromas.
