Quinta do Vesuvio is considered as the most emblematic property of the Douro Valley. This legendary vineyard stands out for its remote location and grand scale. It was acquired in 1989 by the Symington family, whose experience in the Douro dates back to several centuries. The Quinta is the last large Douro estate that keeps granite lagoon treading as an exclusive method in the production of its Port wines, continuing a tradition dating back to 1827. Classic ruby color. Very good aroma with black floral notes and slight minerality. Balanced in the mouth, the tannins ensure longevity but with the ripe fruit to allow it to be tasted now. Contains sulfites.

Outstanding for its exceptional features, the Sandeman Porto Vintage 2016 is a wine that will age in the bottle for 30 or 40 years. This excellent Vintage Porto 2016 is an example of Sandeman's commitment to the quality of Port wine. This wine has an opaque, almost black color. The aroma is intense and complex, with prominent notes of ripe black fruit, resin as well as notes of cocoa and chocolate as a result of its excellent maturation. The balance and harmony of this wine, as well as its body and structure, result from the selection of the best grapes, the intensity of the maceration and the choice of the right moment to stop the fermentation. It aged for 20 months in the cellars of Quinta, in the demarcated Douro region, before bottling. It should age in bottle for 8 to 15 years to acquire the complexity and bouquet characteristic of a vintage. The grapes were trodden and fermented in the Quinta da Romaneira presses with temperature controlled at 28 C, where an intense and disciplined step is essential for a good final result. This 2017 Vintage Port Wine is a supreme expression of this characteristic. It is a seductive wine, full of charm and wonderfully expressive, with remarkable structure and aging potential. For more than two centuries, the name Dow’s has been referred to as one of the best Port wines. Throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, the Symington generations have been working at Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira, creating from these vineyards, superbly concentrated, intense and tannic wines when young, with aging, elegance and perfume appear. aromas of violet and mint. The great majority of the grapes come from the Pinhão River Valley where the Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz are able to withstand the heat that has occurred in the summer. These grapes have been added to other Douro valleys, which translates into a classic blend of the region. The fermentation took place in a mix of closed vats to guarantee the freshness and aromatic component, mill to guarantee greater complexity and structure. After a slow aging and care in our cellars in the Douro, this Vintage now has an intense and mature fruity, in addition to a floral that conveys excellent freshness. Deep color, almost opaque. Intense and complex aromas of floral and balsamic notes combined with heather, resin, red and black berries and a light spice. On the palate it has good body, lively acidity, and firm tannins with a very long, harmonious finish. Contains sulfites.

Produced from grapes from Quinta dos Muros on the spring slope of the Pinhão River valley, where the Touriga Nacional exposed to the south finds the ideal conditions to provide all the structure and complexity beyond the black and ripe fruit, and where Tinta Roriz, with Exposure West lends the acidity and aromatic freshness to this Vintage. Thus we obtain, after vinification in winepress and vat, a retinto Port with an attractive violet and exuberant and fresh aroma to fruits like blackberry and plum. Already in the mouth is initially velvety, well balanced, but soon appears all serious character where the tannins show their claw, aided by a beautiful acidity that leave a long and powerful end of mouth! Quinta de S. José is a family project that began in early 1999, at the will of João's father, Ruy Brito e Cunha, due to the excellent location of Quinta's houses, practically over the river.
