Located in the excellent wine region of Bairrada, between Fogueira and Ancas, this farm is home to notable plots, including a plantation from 1931, dedicated to the noble Bical grape variety.
This wine is distinguished by its unique aging: 60% of the batch fermented and matured for 12 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels, while the remaining 40% benefited from the purity and freshness provided by stainless steel.
It has an extremely pale greenish yellow color, revealing an intense, finely delicate aroma, with touches of white-fleshed fruit and soft toasted notes. The balance is masterful, leading to a long and intense finish, where mineral notes stand out, adding complexity and promising admirable longevity. Discover the Moscatel Bacalhôa Superior 40 Year Old, a true winemaking masterpiece, born from Moscatel de Setúbal grapes from the prestigious Serra da Ursa vineyard, at the foot of the Arrábida mountain range. This exceptional "terroir" is the birthplace of the most renowned fortified wines in DO Setúbal.
After a careful harvest at the end of October 1983 and winemaking that follows the most authentic traditional practices, 40 years later, this unique wine was bottled in a very limited edition of just 200 0.5L bottles. This extraordinary harvest is reserved for equally special future moments.
The aging process of this Moscatel took place in a unique warehouse, under conditions of high natural temperature ranges, favoring an aromatic complexity and incomparable flavors. With an intense amber color, adorned by golden and greenish reflections, it reveals aromas of bitter orange jam, marmalade, tea, dates, fig in syrup, hazelnut and honey.
This Moscatel surprises with its remarkable balance between sweetness, acidity and bitter notes, providing a refreshing and captivating sensation on the palate. With a smooth texture and long finish, this wine is unique. The grape varieties were vinified separately. After a very gentle pressing of the grapes, the must undergoes a cold static decanting and a 7-day “SURLIES” stage, fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature, fermenting at low temperatures. The Wardrobe gives floral and citrus and Arinto brings acidity and freshness to the set. This wine is very expressive in the vanilla aromas, it has an evident and elegant freshness. This harvest has a pale yellow color with greenish reflections, a rich aroma of yellow fruits characteristic of the Chardonnay variety, such as peach and pineapple, combined with roasted and vanilla nuances from contact with French wood. In the mouth, we find strong flavors of yellow fruits well combined with wood, a frank acidity, which gives it a mineral character and a full and persistent finish. With the bottle stage it gains complexity by highlighting notes of nuts. Contains Sulfites.
