Quinta dos Cardeais Grande Reserva White

Quinta dos Cardeais Grande Reserva White is a sublime expression of winemaking, where oenological mastery meets the richness of the terroir. The vinification of this exceptional white wine begins with careful pre-fermentation maceration after stemming, lasting between 4 and 6 hours, followed by gentle pressing. Natural decantation, carried out cold for 48 hours, prepares the wine for fermentation at controlled temperatures, maintained below 17ºC, ensuring the preservation of its unique characteristics.
Made from the Arinto, Antão Vaz and Roupeiro grape varieties, Quinta dos Cardeais Grande Reserva White reveals an aromatic bouquet of exceptional precision, where the vegetal notes mix harmoniously with the country floral, nuances of shaved stone and lemon leaf. On the palate, it is creamy and elegant, marked by a balanced citrus cut that highlights its width and juiciness. The freshness and precision of this wine, combined with its tension, make it an example of excellence, demonstrating a perfect balance between elegance and intensity.

The grapes that make up this wine were destemmed and fermented in an open press with manual treading. Malolactic fermentation and prolonged aging of 20 months in new (70%) and used barrels, both in French oak. Naturally stabilized wine during prolonged aging in barrels. 1400 bottles were produced. Complex and well-defined aroma, with notes of ripe cherry, blueberry and light floral traces. Cedarwood, forest floor, tobacco box and spice add aromatic complexity. In the mouth it proves to be an elegant wine, full of minerality and freshness, reflecting well the limestone soils from which it comes. It is simultaneously a deep, structured and complex wine, with a long and persistent finish.
Carm White

The grapes were vinified with total destemming, followed by gentle crushing and skin maceration for about 12h. After this period in an inert atmosphere, the pressing was done in a pneumatic press, followed by a period of clarification of the must, from 24 to 48 hours depending on the variety and the state of maturity. The alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature between 12 and 14º. The wines aged in stainless steel on fine sludge until bottling. On the nose, this harvest made it possible to obtain a very fresh wine, with citrus fruit, in harmony with light floral nuances and strong mineral notes. It has good volume in the mouth and a very long and fresh finish. It is an ideal white to accompany: fish, seafood, white meat and salads. Contains sulfites.

This wine that comes from the south of the Douro border, granite soils, mixes several white and red varieties. Hand-picked grapes for small boxes, perfectly matured. The bunches were placed whole in a stainless steel tank. The fermentation began within the grapes, and only then the masses were pressed and the fermentation finished. Most of the wine staged in the stainless steel tank, only 20% was staged for 10 months in used barrels. Aroma of forest fruits, silk tannins, lively acidity that surprises and brings a lot of freshness and vibration. Contains Sulfites.

In 2015 we enjoyed long and slow maturations that our older strains and our best plots have taken advantage of to provide grapes with an exemplary balance between acidity and tannins. The two grape varieties that benefited most with the exceptional goodness of nature were Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, providing grapes in perfect maturity. With raw material so good we prefer to work them little, letting the grapes speak for themselves. That's why we did little more than one walk on our wineries, according to the most traditional methods of the region, followed by a stage in new barrels and barrels of second year of French oak, letting the wine express itself in the purest form .
Very fleshy red color. Tense and closed, concentrated and powerful, floral and fruity, it ends with some earthy notes that add complexity. Silky and velvety in texture, it is an intense and structured red, vigorous but not aggressive, complex and elegant, fresh finish and great guarding potential.
Contains Sulfites.
