Erupção Vulcânica by António Maçanita Red
23,99 €
Erupção Vulcânica by António Maçanita Red blends the best wines from the 2018, 2019, and 2021 harvests to capture the essence of Pico's volcanic soils. This wine celebrates the unique terroir of Pico, situated in the Atlantic Ocean at the base of the volcanic mountain.
The vines are planted in volcanic rock cracks formed between 500 and 2000 years ago, close to the sea and protected by walls from salty winds. Selective manual harvesting in 20kg baskets ensures the quality of the grapes, which undergo spontaneous fermentation and 25 to 30 days of maceration.
With an open ruby color, the explosive nose reveals notes of red fruit, smoke, and sea. On the palate, it is fresh and textured, with salinity and fine tannins. Ideal for stews, fatty meats, and complex fish dishes like caldeiradas and cataplana. Erupção Vulcânica is a fresh, elegant, and spicy red wine.

Quinta D’Aguieira Red

Located in Águeda, northeast of the Bairrada region, Quinta d'Aguieira features an incredible mosaic of micro-terroirs, painted over its 21 hectares. With the particularity that they originated in the riverbed, thousands of years ago, the soils of this farm are alluvial deposits and the subsoils of rolled pebbles, coarse sand and some clay. These soils, the starting point of everything and studied for years, showed us the best that could be extracted from them with the most adapted varieties. The best grapes picked by hand and selected, undergo a long maceration with temperature control. After a twelve-month aging in French oak barrels, bottling and aging in bottle followed for three years.
With a deep garnet color, Quinta D'Aguieira captivates by its aromatic intensity. The wild fruits and the fruit blend with the subtle notes of wood, enhanced by velvety tannins. Harmonious, elegant and complex, this wine is marked by its persistently long persistent finish, which makes us travel through time.
