Textura da Estrela Red comes from 3 different vineyard plots, all of them in Vila Nova de Tazem (Serra da Estrela sub-region). In 2018, it was a lot composed of Vinha Velha (35%), Touriga Nacional (30%), Jaen (20%) and Alfrocheiro (15%). Vineyards aged 25 to 60 years in granitic soils, treated sustainably and without herbicides, have been converting to organic certification since 2020. The grapes that make up this wine come from old vines planted in schist soil at an average altitude of 350 meters in the region between Freixo de Espada à Cinta and Barca d'Alva, in the Douro Superior.
