The grape must was fermented in contact with the skin in order to extract color, tannin and flavor. Temperatures were controlled in order to maintain the fruity aroma. Aging for 12 months in French oak barrels. Ruby color, aroma with red fruits (currant and raspberry), some vegetable combined with discreet notes of peppers in a slight smoky involvement. Elegant mouth, with good acidity and smooth. Ends long. Contains sulfites.

Selective manual vintage in 40 kg baskets, selection on a selection table, entry into the vat by gravity without using pumps. Open ruby color, nose with notes of alcoholic cherry, iodine and clove notes. In the mouth it is fresh, medium texture with a lot of salinity and fine tannins. It is a Volcanic Red. Contains sulfites.

After malolactic fermentation the wines were tranferred separately to new barrels (60%) and 4 years (40%) of French oak, where they trained for about 12 months until the final batch. After bottling, a temperature controlled stage of 15ºC is followed for 6 months in order to achieve the appropriate balance for its consumption. To preserve its great quality, it was bottled without treatment by the cold and without glue so that a slight deposit can form in the bottle. The elegance and balance of the Herdade do Peso Essência 2014 make this wine the perfect accompaniment to the tasty meat dishes of the rich Alentejo gastronomy.

The grapes were harvested in 25kg plastic boxes, hand-picked from berry to berry, destemmed and trampled on foot in traditional presses, fermented in presses for a week at a temperature of 26ºC. Malolactic fermentation took place in new French oak casks, where the wine aged for 18 months. Dark ruby color. Fresh notes of black fruits on the nose without over-ripening, all well matched and balanced with new wood, good volume in the mouth with a refreshing acidity to balance the concentration of the wine, the tannins are present but ripe. Long and elegant finish with notes of vanilla and fruit. Contains sulfites.
