Quinta do Sobral Reserve Red

Manual harvest in 18Kg boxes, careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard. The grapes were completely destemmed in small stainless steel vats, where they were macerated for 24 hours at low temperature, before starting alcoholic fermentation, with indigenous yeasts and controlled temperature. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, with gentle mechanical treading for good color and aroma extraction. After fermentation, it was transferred to second year French oak barrels, where it remained for 12 months, completing the malolactic fermentation here. Intense ruby color, notes of vanilla, cocoa and chocolate. In the mouth it is balanced and fresh, with present tannins and a long and soft finish. It is an elegant and harmonious wine, it is focused. Spice notes like white pepper, cinnamon, with more complex and more rustic aromas.

This wine expresses the desire to make a Touriga Nacional from old vines. In a region where the old vineyard consists of a wide range of grape varieties mixed in the same plot. In 2009, 3,500 kg of Touriga Nacional were harvested from a single 80-year-old vineyard, which implied making a choice of Touriga Nacional grape varieties in the large set of grape varieties of that parcel. Vinification was done in a cement vat with pre- and post-fermentative maceration. Aging for 1 year in 225 liter French oak barrels. Opaque red color, aroma of red fruits with spicy notes. Pacheca Grande Reserva Touriga Nacional Red

This wine is obtained exclusively from the Touriga Nacional variety from a 32-year-old plot installed at an altitude of 140 meters. After careful selection for their best condition, the grapes were harvested in boxes of 25 kg and sent to the winery where they were totally destemmed. Fermentation took place during 9 days in traditional 7-ton granite stone tanks with stepping and soft reassembly for leaching by blanket and extraction of phenolic and aromatic compounds. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was transferred to new French oak barrels where the malolactic fermentation took place and aged for about 18 months. Pacheca Touriga Nacional is an elegant wine with good aromatic intensity, notes of bergamot and violet with well integrated wood.
