The grapes from several very old vineyards in the Alto Douro Vinhateiro (Mêda) were pressed in whole bunches, in order to extract the freshest and most vibrant must possible. Keeping the origin of each vineyard, the musts followed the alcoholic fermentation in new 500L French oak barrels. Fermentation process from indigenous yeasts, brings more complexity and character to wines. Long maturation on total lees (12 months). Malolactic partials make up the Burgundian-inspired route. Concise, elegant, frank, expressive. Fresh citrus notes with great notoriety, lime, grapefruit, flower, white fruit, irreproachable trace of pure minerality. Wide mouth, serious, exuberant acidity, salty, long trace. Contains sulfites.

Selective manual harvest in 25kg buckets. Gentle pressing of the whole bunch, with decantation after 12 hours of sedimentation. Fermented by indigenous yeasts with temperature control. Aging in 15% used French oak barrels and 85% in vertical stainless steel vats. Elegant aroma typical of the variety, with floral notes, unctuous in the mouth, fresh and markedly saline.

Grapes from non-irrigated 100% Rufete vineyards, originating in two plots of granitic soils in the parish of Vermiosa, in the heart of the Douro International Natural Park, at an average altitude of 700 meters. Partial destemming and crushing. Integral fermentation in cement vats with indigenous yeasts without temperature control. Aging for 15 months in cement eggs, 10% of this batch aged in used French oak barrels. Complex aroma with sweet vegetable notes in combination with wild fruits and spices. Mineral character and a slight earthy touch, very identifying the variety. In the mouth it is a fresh wine, with soft but well present tannins, with spicy notes and slight minerality. Stage of 20 months in barrels of Allier French Oak and 14 months in bottle. It has a dark garnet color, very intense and complex aroma, black fruit notes, balsamic and spicy aromas of the barrel. Palate with good structure, ripe and smooth tannins, good freshness, long persistence. Contains Sulfites.
Filipa Pato Nossa Missão Red

Missão, is a small centennial vineyard of 0.57 hectares with pre-phylloxeric vines of over 100 years. Production is limited to only 500 bottles and 30 magnums. It is located on a gentle slope with east orientation, the soil is of limestone origin from the Lower Jurassic era, with reddish clay. The cultivation and harvesting are totally manual and the sorting of the grapes is done in the vineyard itself. A part of the grapes are destemmed, and the percentage of whole grapes depends on the conditions of each harvest. Fermentation takes place slowly for about 3 weeks, with indigenous yeasts, the flow is smooth and long. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine drains by gravity and the masses are pressed. The whole fills only a traditional 500 liter kite where it stays for 18 months in our basement. The "Missão" is a remarkable wine for its pure expression of Berry. While young, the aromas resemble violet and strawberry. After 7-9 years, the aromas become more complex with a lot of energy and concentration. The tannins, although very alive, are soft, lively acidity, long finish, irreverent and elegant. It is a wine with long aging potential. Contains Sulfites.
