Manual harvest. Total destemming. Fermentation in open barrel at low temperatures. Decantation for new and used 225L French oak barrels for 18 months. 12 months of aging in bottle before going to the market. Winemakers choose their favorite barrel to create the blend that best characterizes them. Concentrated ruby color. Complex aroma, with notes of spices and black fruit, pepper, vanilla and chocolate. Full-bodied, expressing the classic style of Dão wines. Noble tannins, good texture with great balance. Long, structured and deep finish. It will age beautifully in a bottle. Contains sulfites.

Hand-picked grapes, reception with total destemming and crushing immediately. Fermentation between 16 - 17ºC for a period of about 20 days with indigenous yeasts. Aging for 4 months in stainless steel vats until bottling. Citrus fruit and minerality, grapefruit, notes of nettles and white flowers, very fresh and light in the mouth, revealing the altitude of the vines. The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of Síria and Fonte Cal grapes from old vines planted in granite and schist soils with quartz veins, in the hydrographic basin of the Douro River at an average altitude of 700 meters. MAIAS wine comes from the Quinta das Maias property, in organic farming, which is located at about 600 meters of altitude in the foothills of Serra da Estrela. The name derives from the yellow broom that covers the slopes of the mountain and here they are called «Mayas» because they bloom in the month of May.
The wines are characterized by the freshness of grapes from vines planted at altitude and by sandy granite-based soils.
This woodless white wine is dominated by the Malvasia Fina and Encruzado grape varieties, which contributes to the floral and plum notes with fresh and elegant aromas.
