The Glencadam distillery opened in 1825 and has since changed little. A very special collection of barrels was chosen for the Origin 1825 edition. The final selection consisted of a unique marriage of whiskey ripened into first-class American oak bourbon barrels with "finished" whiskey at the finest ends of Spanish Sherry Oloroso. It has a warm gold color, with malted barley aroma creamy and floral with notes of vanilla that welcome the arrival of mixed summer fruits. A 1996 Benrinnes single malt from French indie bottler La Maison du Whisky, matured in a hogshead and bottled as part of the third release of its Artist Collective series and the bottle features a piece entitles Intarsia by artist David Crunelle. The palate offers notes of wild peaches, lime, coconut milk, vanilla, sage, chamomile and roasted coffee that linger in the finish.
