Master Brian Kinsman traveled to Canada to meet a renowned winemaker in Niagara. There he learned how the grapes had to be harvested in the moonlight at -10 ° C to produce the intensely sweet Icewine. After his return to the Glenfiddich Distillery, Brian began experimenting with several French Oak Icewine barrels from the Canadian winery, filling them with different aged Glenfiddich malts for up to six months. Only the rarest whiskeys, those aged 21 years, could handle the extra intensity of Icewine. The flavor is a perfect combination of both pioneering liquids, intense candied candies and Glenfiddich oak are complemented by mouth-watering tropical fruit notes and a delicious sweetness from the exclusive Icewine hull finish.
