Xisto Cru Tinto

Wine from two vineyards in Cima Corgo, one in Covas do Douro and the other in Ervedosa do Douro, all over 80 years old, the first planted at 400 meters altitude facing west and the second planted at 570 meters altitude facing north. The soils are schist, predominantly blue schist, a harder stone that produces more austere wines. The winemaking methods were very minimally interventionist, with fermentation on the stems carried out by indigenous yeasts in open wooden lagares made from old port wine barrels. It presents a complex aroma with notes of fresh fruit, forest berries and pine needles, a slight smoky note. On the palate, it is intense and fresh, with great depth, well-defined acidity, lively and balanced.
