Envelope Red results from a blend with Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão from vineyards aged 40, and fermented with 100% stalks. In the middle of the process, in order to avoid the astringency of the tannins, we interrupted the contact with the film. It aged for 12 months in 300 liter barrels and then remained in the bottle for another 8 months before leaving for the market. Clear and open in color. This wine comes from selected grapes in the oldest vineyards in the Borba region. After rigorous control of the maturation evolution of the grapes in the vineyard, upon arrival at the winery the grapes were de-stemmed and gently crushed, followed by the alcoholic fermentation process in a stainless steel press, with mechanical treading, ending in maceration for 10 days, under temperature control at 22-25ºC. Malolactic fermentation took place in a small stainless steel tank. Aging for 12 months in new French, American and brown oak barrels prior to bottling and a final aging in the cellar for 12 months in bottle. Garnet color. Aroma of black fruit jam. Full flavor with soft, fruity and toasted tannins, with final freshness and sweet cocoa.
